From hair loss to dry skin, to breakouts, it seems as if there is always an obstacle to being the best version of ourselves. There have been numerous ways to combat these problems from surgeries to lotion to medications, but there is a different substance that provides the same amount of benefits as the aforementioned products: essential oils.
Acne, particularly among teens, causes much stress. Blemishes and zits are the enemies of confidence and those affected search for the ideal product to eliminate them. Some may find success with creams or certain products, but an alternative to these products is Tea Tree oil. Tea tree oil can act as an antiseptic, antimicrobial, or antifungal cream which essentially means it removes bacteria from the skin, a leading cause of acne. If creams seem to not work or make the problem worse, try Tea Tree oil.

Having headaches, mood swings or feeling tired often? Taking pills over a long period of time can lead to other health challenges. An alternative to pills is Peppermint oil as it has been known to ease headaches, fight fatigue, lift mood, and support digestion. This topical oil is applied to the skin and can also treat aches and pains. It has been used since the days of ancient Rome. When using Peppermint oil to clear any health problems, apply lightly to ensure that an allergic reaction does not occur even though it is a rare occurrence. Similar oils that are anti-inflammatory, which is the cause of many aches and pain conditions are Eucalyptus Oil and Frankincense oil. Some of these require it to be diluted before applying to the skin as they are potent in their natural form.
Depression, stress, and anxiety are often products of our environments. Lemongrass oil has been studied and proven to alleviate stress and anxiety when applied regularly three times a week. It contains similar properties to Peppermint oil and Tea tree oil which is also an anti-inflammatory medicine but it also contains antioxidants that can rebalance our bodies fluids and cells.

By simply dispersing the oils through the room, also known as aromatherapy, the smell has been shown to change your mood quickly as it triggers emotional responses. Diffusing is particular to each oil respectively however diluting or blending it with coconut oil or jojoba oil, makes the oils less prone to skin irritation for topical uses. Like other forms of medicine, they are particular to the individual so experimenting with different oils and seeing which benefits your own body, can provide a quick boost to your health.
